Saving at Wal-Mart is a little trickier. Their prices generally are lower than Target and other grocery stores except Aldi’s. They do have ads, but not regular weekley sales like other stores. So how to save?

1. Our Wal-Mart stores will do price matches to grocery stores in our area, so you can always bring in    the ad of another store and ask for the same advertised price.

2. Because Wal-Mart’s prices tend to be lower, many times by using manufacturer’s coupons you can get the item for free or low cost. For example, I recently had some Kraft salad dressing coupons for $1.50 off one bottle. The dressing is only $1.58 at Wal-Mart so I was able to get the salad dressing for only 0.08 a bottle.

3. Wal-Mart’s website states that they take printable coupons. My Wal-Mart has never questioned these, but I have heard that some Wal-mart’s won’t take them.

4. Check out the Wal-Mart forum at A Full Cup or the Wal-mart section at Money Saving Mom and StlMommy for special savings and coupon match-ups.  (Prices and promotions will vary by your region.)
